Summer 2014. San Francisco, the city by the bay. It was indeed an awesome experience having been in a place so different in so many ways from where we live. It was fascinating to see interesting and exciting places within San Francisco. Though during our first three days, I would say, it was exhausting, tiring, chaotic as we were just taking public transport. The city itself is not as good as I thought based on what I read and see on the net, it is incomparable to Calgary, our city is way better, so much better. Homeless people are pretty much everywhere (nothing against them), people are not disciplined (they throw garbage everywhere, some people don't follow traffic rules, you can smell weeds smoke inside the bus).To my relief, we got the car rental on our fourth day.
As Most tourists do, we visited Union Square, Golden Gate Park where you can see De Young Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, Conservatory of Flowers and Stow Lake. Pier 39 was hell busy, watching people around can make you feel dizzy, and to our disappointment, the sea lions didn't show up. Palace of Fine Arts is fascinating, the Golden Gate Bridge is a product marvelous engineering. One thing that made me in awe is their city hall, spectacular, you can't ignore the intricate details of the columns, staircase and the façade.
Just across the bay at the other end of the bridge is a quaint little city of Sausalito where everyone can see a nice view of San Francisco and a few miles from here is the Mill Valley where you can stroll inside the forest called Muir Woods.
South of San Francisco is the where the techno hub is, the Google campus, Facebook and Apple Headquarters, Seagate and all other techies.
The best experience I had was when my cousin from Newark took us for lunch at Ray's Crab Shack, it was like a seafood festival where you can feast on their famous crabs, clams, crawfish, lobster with the best sauce I ever had.
